Celebrates 50 years as a Mark Master Mason

W.Bro. Roy Roberts, Past Grand Junior Deacon, has had an illustrious career in Mark Masonry  and celebrated his 50 years continuous membership on Monday 24th April at Lliedi Mark Lodge 820, where he was presented with the 50 Years Certificate by the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Ron Jones JP.

The Worshipful Master W.Bro. Wynford Allen thanked Roy for all his past work on behalf of the lodge.

Brother Reginald David Roy Roberts was advanced into Lliedi Mark Lodge on 24th April 1967 at the age of 38 years, and ten years later he became it's Worshipful Master. He was a member of both the "past masters" lodges, and became WM of Dyfed Lodge of Installed Mark Masters 1535 in 2001 and attained the chair of Gorllewin Cymru Mark Grand Officers Lodge 1700 in 2006.

His dedication to the Mark Degree was rewarded when in 1992 the Grand Master appointed him Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies (PAGDC), in 2005 he was promoted to Past Grand Junior Deacon.

He is also a member of Lliedi Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners, and De Gorllewin Lodge of Installed Commanders having attained the chairs of those lodges in 1985 and 2001respectively. He is a Holder of Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank.

W.Bro. Roy Roberts joined Mark Masonry before the formation of the Mark Province of Dyfed and has served under eight Provincial Grand Masters, four in South Wales and four in Dyfed.

Prior to the presentation of the Certificate there was an advancement ceremony during which Bro. John Prosser was advanced into Lliedi Mark, W.Bro. Roy was delighted to witness the ceremony and mentioned that he could remember his own advancement ceremony , he certainly paid attention throughout!

After the presentation W.Bro. Roy thanked the PGM, WM and brethren explaining that the Mark Degree was very close to his heart and he had many happy memories of his time in the company of all his friends.
